Break away.
Hello Darlings! It's definitely been awhile huh? Yeah, been forever busy with school & work. So yup, here's an update of my skincare routine. I've finally found one that i love! I know i said in my previous skincare routine post that i'd switch out my skincare products every month to try what works best. But fortunately, my skin's currently at it's very best. LIKE NO SHIT. haha, i actually feel about 90% confident about my skin. So i have decided to stick with this for awhile longer:>
Huhu, who many things.
Step 1: Cleanse. Always wash your face. It is the most important step of an everyday skincare routine.
I'm using the Avène Clenance Gel. Its a soapless cleanser which is good cos those cleanser that foam up, aren't good for the skin. This cleanser was featured in Roseanne Tang's Favourites in february 2012 & i decided to give it a try as she recommended it to peeps with oil, blemish prone skin. Which is like all me? so yeah. if you have oily, blemish-prone skin, this would be the cleanser for you!
It retails @$30.90 at guardian & watsons. It is awesome, i have been loving it so much. I can rally genuinely feel the difference of my skin, it less prone to blemishes As well managing my oil skin's oil level.
Rating: 4.5/5
(i took away the o.5 cos it is slightly more on the high-end side of facial cleansers.)
Step 2: Exfoliate. This step is also essential in a skincare routine, but not necessarily a daily one. It's recommended to exfoliate 3-4 times a week, or every other day. I do it every other day.
This past 2 months i've been trying out this St. Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub for blemish & blackhead control. It says on the packaging that it prevents blemishes & cleanses pores. Which i have to agree with. It's superrrrr affordable. It retails in Watsons & guardian @$7.90 like WHUT?! so cheap for such an A-Mazing product. It has been recommended by a Youtube gurus, princessjoules, who i might add, has freaking flawless skin. So like advice she gives, i take. So yeah i went out to get this after seeing her video & ohmygawd it is just one of must-haves now. Like i used to neglect exfoliating, i'd forget & only exfoliate when I'm in the mood to pamper my skin, but now, i do it every other day.
Rating: 5/5
Love this to death!
Step 3: Toner. This is another essential product in your skincare routine. Toner is said to tighten pores to removes the appearance of your pores & give your skin a flawless finish.
The toner i've been using is the Avène Clenance lotion-toner. It soothes & mattyfies. Which means it tighten your pores & control the oil-level of your skin. It retails at $40.90. Which is MAD for a toner, but it good results for the money. This is from the same brand & line as the cleanser i'm using. It is definitely better than the stupid Za one. Like not to butcher that one, but this one totally kick that Za toner's ass. Haha, like no joke. I can definitely tell the difference of the size of my pores compared to a month ago. Thumbsup to this.
Rating: 4.5/5
(i cut the 0.5 again cos of the MAD cost of $40+ for a toner.)
Step 4: Serum. This is an optional step. I feel this helps add an extra layer of hydration to my skin. i use this only for my evening skin care routine.
This is the Vichy Aqualia thermal. It says that its a 24-hour Hydrating Concentrate that is fortifying & soothing. This was not recommended to or anything, i was just looking for a good serum & this caught my eye on the vichy website. So yeah, decided to give it a try. It cost $30+ I am mutual about it, like i like how soothing it makes my skin feel & how light weight it is, it being a gel & all. But i wouldn't say it's something we all need in our skincare routine.
Rating: 4/5
Not a must-have, but definitely a luxurious step to have in your evening skincare routine & provides wonderful moisture.
Step 5: Moisturizer. Moistuizer is SUPER, MAD, I CANNOT EMPHASIZE HOW IMPORTANT this step is. Like you can be all lazy & only wash you face, but if you don't apply moisturizer after that, it's like you drinking water & it immediately get flushed on the stop without giving your body nutrients & shit. Like Moisturizer is super important. It helps lock all the moisture in your skin, providing your skin with a protective layer from dirt & bacteria as well. It give your skint hat smooth finish & prevent it form irritation & dry, flakiness.
This is the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Aqua-gel. This one i use only once every 2 days, this is super pricey, like $48 pricey please. WHICH IS MAD. so i only use it once every 2 days & only in the evening & truly only one pea size amount is enough to cover my whole entire face & even down to my neck. This gel is super cooling & sooting. When i apply this i can literally feel how moisturized my skin feels. Love this super much!
Rating: 4.5/5
(again, the 0.5 for the price:/)
This moisturizer is my daily one. This is the Avène Matifying fluid moisturizer. It's oil-free & for oily skin. Which is totally me. Haha, i love mattifying moisturizers. i have one from La roche posy which i use as my makeup base. But i use this for my everyday skincare routine in the day before i head to school or even at home after i cleanse. It control the oil level of my skin & i love it, ALOT. I personally like the matte fell to my skin, so this is able to give my skin that matte finish.
Rating: 4.5/5
(again, cut 0.5 for price? i forgot how much it costed me though, but i know it was pretty high-end.)
Step 6: Acne/ Blemish Treatment. This is essential in a skincare routine. After applying moisturizer & all. It helps peeps with acne & blemish-prone skin to manage their acne & blemish problems.
The Za one, i did feature before, it only cost me $7.9 which is worth it, but the tube is really quite small. I use it on top of blemishes that are healing or scars to make them disappear. The other one is the Neutrpgena On-The-Spot Acne treatment. This si some awesome shit. I apply this on my pimple before fit starts growing, like y'know when it starts coming out you can feel a raised bump that hurts like a bitch or a yellow patch that is clearly a progressing pimple?! i apply this & It instantly dries out the pimple. It super good. I use it when i got to bed 7 even when I'm heading out cos it dries clear:)
Rating: 5/5 Both are lovely products that are great to have!
Step 7: Eye gel/Cream. This is also a pretty popular product that peeps have in their skincare routine to help prevent or conceal dark circles & puffy eyes.
I'm currently using the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Roll on fortifying hydrogel. Its paraben-free, along with all the aquaria thermal products, which is a good thing to look for in your skincare products or makeup too, paraben is NOT good for your skin. This has definitely helped in preventing dark circles & puffy eyes, especially since this year i don't get muchs leap & i ACTUALLY pay attention & not fall asleep during class. Haha. So yeah, this has helped not make it appear like i have testicles under my eyes. Thumbsup!

Step 8: Lip Scrub. OKAY I KNOW, this is not a skincare routine step, BUT it is something one should do often. Exfoliating your lips are AS important as exfoliating your skin. You never know when the need would arouse for a pucker up moment *winks.
The Lip scrub i'm currently using is from LUSH. It retails @$18 Its the bubblegum one. There are other flavors like mint too. Its awesome, not only cos it freaking bubblegum, but cos not only is it a lip scrub, but after you exfoliate, you can swallow the formula & it serves as a freaking breathfreshner, i mean who wouldn't wanna a sweet bubblegum-smelling breath?! haha, love it!
Rating: 4.5/5
(it is indeed slightly pricey for a lip product though, but ugh, i'd pay for such a cool product please!)
Step 9: Lip Cream. This is the follow-up step from exfoliating your lips. you should always but a lip cream or balm to ensure you don't get dry, chapped lips.
I'm using the Body Shop's born lippy lip cream in the flavor watermelon. I've been loving this since i was a young girl at like age 6/7? haha! Smells delightful & tastes delightful too! Also it's really moisturizing.
For daily use, before i head out i use the EOS one & when I'm out i either use my Skittles lip smacker or Maybelline baby lips. Which just shows HOW FRIGGIN IMPORTANT it is to apply lip blame & cream. Like having chapped lips can be an utter pain in the ass uh, cos it feels like your lips are always burning & hurting, not cool.
SO YEAH,
That's basically it for my current skin care routine. You can google all of them for prices online:) I hope this was a helpful post for y'all.
Finally....
Maybelline launched their Dream bouncy blushes in America & other countries like UK & all LAST YEAR. Expected that like along with other awesome beauty products that sucky singapore fails to have, the dream bouncy blushes would be one of them. But nuuuuuu, maybelline came out with the jelly glow, which is basically the same? just different name & colors. they only have four colors, as a comparison to like so much more in america. SO yeah. I actually got my aunt to buy me 2 colors form the dream bouncy bluch one & got her to send it over, when i get it, i'll do a comparison & swatch post aite? for now, you can go swatch them & try them out in stores (Watsons & Guardian).
Thats all for now darlings! Thanks for reading & stay tuned for more posts! Love you! Bye.
Xoxo.
